SAntivirus Removal Guide

In the past, we have discussed the importance of regularly cleaning your computer to improve speed and performance. If you decide to clean your computer manually, then you will most likely start by deleting old files and uninstalling unnecessary software. If you are doing this process and come across SAntivirus Protection Lite, you might wonder where that program came from and why you are having trouble uninstalling it.

Don’t worry; you are not alone.

Segurazo Antivirus, or more commonly known as SAntivirus, is an “antivirus” program that most experts identify as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). The free software began to rise in 2019 and has since been the subject of many online discussions that warn other users not to download the misleading program.

Today, we will discuss what Seguarzo Antivirus is, how it got on your computer, and, more importantly, how to remove it.

What is SAntivirus?

Segurazo Antivirus was developed by a global IT security company that offers potential customers a free antivirus suite that “full virus protection, potential threat quarantine, privacy protection, real-time protection, performance improvements, and more.” Many computer users immediately saw the offer as a red flag because of the services offered at zero cost to the user.

Although some users downloaded the program directly from its official website–after a deceptive ad or fake update prompt on a malicious website– most users discovered that it was installed on their system without them knowing– most likely from software bundling through installing freeware.

The program automatically reportedly “scans” your computer for issues that may pose a threat to your security and then gives you a list of “issues” that your computer has. Many users have reported that these scans showed hundreds of issues…even on a new computer, which is where the legitimacy of this program became questioned.  It was later discovered that most of these issues or problems were fake and being used as a way to upgrade or purchase the full version of the software.

Whether it was accidental or intentional, you may find it difficult to uninstall the problematic software.

How To Remove SAntivirus

Removing this software may require a bit more steps than a typical uninstall. Make sure that you follow all of these steps.

  1. Disable Network Connection
It is essential that you do this before attempting to remove sAntivirus. You do this by going to Control Panel. Once you are there, go to Network and Internet and select Network and Sharing Center. Click Change Adapter Settings and right-click on your wi-fi connection (or ethernet) and choose Disable.
  2. Use SAntivirus Uninstaller
Run the SAntivirus Uninstaller after your network connection is disabled and this will help to get rid of some files. Under Control Panel, go to File Explorer. Then This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Digital Communications > SAntivirus. Double-click to launch the SAntivirusUninstaller.exe. If a prompt comes up, click REMOVE PROTECTION. After this you can then delete the program from your PC.
  3. Clean your Registry
Cleaning your registry is very important for the entire program’s removal, but you must be experienced in doing this.

    1. First, launch Regedit by pressing Windows key + R and then type regedit into it. Press OK.
    2. Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftTracing and look for keys belonging to SAntivirus (they may also be named under Segurazo name) and be sure to right-click each of them and delete. Keep in mind that this will be a very lengthy process.
  4. Force delete leftover files in the installation folder
Copy the path to the installation folder and then open Windows Task Manager by pressing CTRL + ALT+ DELETE. Go to File Explorer and End Task. Use Windows Search to find cmd and right-click the Command Prompt>Run As Administrator> Click YES. In Command Prompt, type del /f , paste the path you copied earlier to replace , then add one file name that didn’t delete earlier.  Press Enter to execute the command and repeat this command using different filenames.
  5. Empty Recycle Bin

Conclusion

As you can see, there are a lot of steps that require a lot of time to fully remove all parts of sAntivirus. If you can complete all the steps, then you absolutely should, but if you are not comfortable with all of the steps, you can purchase and download software that is trusted and experienced in removing these types of files.
